It is for this reason that, over the years, one of its most valued characteristics was the <strong> customization capacity it offers. <\/strong> Personalization, not only at the level of functionality but also in the way of working.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As different departments will be in contact with the tool, each one may want to modify the way they interact with the program, and there are even companies that leave this choice at the user level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The good news is that Dynamics 365 <strong> Business Central reaches this level of detail <\/strong> and in this article we will review some of the options offered by user-level customization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong> NOTE: In the 2019 wave 2 release Microsoft introduced several new features in terms of customization <\/strong>. For more details, <strong> see Why the page is locked for personalization <\/strong>. The reasons for the block may be different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the one hand, if the icon you see is <strong> the padlock, is that you last customized the page in an earlier version <\/strong> of the product. If you run the unlock option, you have to keep in mind that the current personalization of the page will be deleted to return to the original version and, therefore, you will have to start the zero customization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If on the contrary you observe the icon of the <strong> prohibition sign, it means that you cannot customize the page <\/strong> due to limitations of your profile or work role. In this case, you should contact your environment administrator for more help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That said, what page customization options exist?<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Move a field <\/strong>: Simply select the field you want to move and drag it to the new position you want. If you display a prohibition icon next to a field it means that it cannot be moved.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Hide a field <\/strong>: Through the arrow that appears just to that field, you must select the hide option.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"264\" height=\"254\" src=\"https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19987\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Show fields:<\/strong> If you want to show a field that you hidden or that by default is not shown, you must search for it through the option \u2018More\u2019 &gt; \u2018+ Field\u2019 of the personalization bar, select the part of the page for which you want to see the available fields and then drag it to the place wanted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/hR5tK7NayXJvEv4yKa\/giphy.gif \" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Organize the default visualizations: <\/strong> In sections of the tabs with different fields it is usual that by default not all of them are displayed, but to access the complete list you must click on \u2018Show more\u2019. To decide which fields we want to see by default and which in the additional drop-down we can mark the fields as &#8216;Show when you contract&#8217; or &#8216;Show in Show more&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"260\" height=\"257\" src=\"https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19989\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Customize the quick entry: <\/strong> When you are filling in the information on a tab quickly you use the tab to jump to the fields marked \u2018Quick entry\u2019. To decide which fields you want to be part of this group you can manage it using the option \u2018Exclude from fast entry\u2019.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Immobilization in rows and columns: <\/strong> When the information is shown in tables, we can decide which columns and rows to freeze to work more comfortably using the option \u2018Set panel immobilization\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"251\" height=\"195\" src=\"https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19991\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Business Central enables the <strong> customization of actions <\/strong>, both in the menus and in the Role Center. Action is considered, for example, the \u2018Register\u2019 or \u2018Launch\u2019 buttons and their options; as well as the actions that appear after the | in the horizontal menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In actions, it is not always possible to edit, delete or reorder actions with what our best advice is to explore through the red arrows what actions you can perform and which you cannot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You usually have <strong> three types of modifications available: delete, hide and show. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Clear_customizations_in_Dynamics_365_Business_Central\"><\/span><strong> Clear customizations in Dynamics 365 Business Central <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At any given time you may wish to delete some or all of the customizations that you have carried out on a specific page. When you click on the \u2018Clear personalization\u2019 option, the following options will appear:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"325\" height=\"219\" src=\"https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19993\" srcset=\"https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-6.png 325w, https:\/\/triangle.desarrollobirdcom.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/user-personalization-6-300x202.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 325px) 100vw, 325px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong> Actions only: <\/strong> You will only delete the changes you have made in the action bar of that page.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Only fields, columns and parts: <\/strong> You will delete all changes except those you have made in actions.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Only filtered views: <\/strong> You will remove customizations made in views.<\/li>\n<li><strong> Everything: <\/strong> With this option you will restore the page in its initial version, deleting all changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Additional_information\"><\/span><strong> Additional information <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you are personalizing your pages and actions you must take into account the following considerations:<\/p>\n\n\n<p>[unordered_list style=&#8217;circle&#8217; number_type=&#8217;circle_number&#8217; animate=&#8217;no&#8217; font_weight=&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When <strong> you add fields, you can only add those predefined <\/strong> by the application. Under no circumstances, you will not be able to create new fields or columns.<\/li>\n<li>When you make <strong> changes on a tab page <\/strong>, for example, to a client&#8217;s record, the changes will be replicated for the rest, that is, they will be applied to all customer listings. &lt; \/ li&gt;<\/li>\n<li>The <strong> changes you make are transported to the different areas of Business Central&#8217;s work <\/strong> for your user. That is, if you work with the Business Administrator profile and need to switch to Sales Order Processor, you can work with your customizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/unordered_list]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Customizing_color_indicators_on_batteries_in_Dynamics_365_Business_Central\"><\/span><strong> Customizing color indicators on batteries in Dynamics 365 Business Central <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system administrator has the possibility to customize the colors shown in the work area stacks that change depending on the data values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong> color indicators are the small color bars that are displayed under the batteries <\/strong>.
